Local briefs: Oxnard's Saipale leads Sacred Heart attack
COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL
Mydori Saipale, a freshman from Oxnard High, had 29 kills and 28 digs and was named to the all-invitational team for Sacred Heart in the Yale Invitational.
Earlier, Saipale was the kills leader against Boston College, the eventual Boston Classic champion. Cathy Quillico of Boston College, from Westlake High, had 14 digs.
GOLF
Russell, Meisinger third in SCGA event
Randy Russell of Ventura and Russell Meisinger of Oak View finished third in the Southern California Four-Ball Net Championship on Sunday and Monday at Brookside Golf Club in Pasadena.
Representing the Ventura County Golf Association, the team shot a 63 and 60 to finish 17 under for 32 holes.
