Morning Report: Traffic hazards reported in Simi Valley, Somis, Oxnard
Traffic: At 6:49 a.m., the California Highway Patrol was reporting an ambulance responding to a traffic collision on Highway 118 eastbound at Kuehner Drive in Simi Valley.
The CHP was also reporting a semi blocking lanes of Highway 118 at Somis Road in Somis.
A large dead animal was reported in lanes of Highway 118 westbound at Madera Road in Simi Valley.
The CHP this morning also reported a non-injury traffic collision at Rose Avenue and Simon Way near Oxnard.

Weather: Continued low humidities have led the National Weather Service to extend a red-flag warning for local mountains above 4000 feet through 10 a.m. today.
Red-flag warnings indicate conditions amenable to quick spreading wildfires.
Mostly sunny weather is expected today with high temperatures around 70 at beaches and around 90 inland, according to weather service forecasts.

Police and Fire: Last night and this morning were calm and routine, law enforcement and fire officials said.

"A large dead animal was reported in lanes of Highway 118".......like what? Seems odd to report it that way, was it a bear? Deer? Bigfoot???
