Husband pleads guilty to Oxnard stabbing
A Carpinteria man, accused of stabbing his wife in Oxnard after crashing his car into hers, pleaded guilty Tuesday to attempted murder.
Fermin Garcia Alcantar, who is in custody, is facing up to 15 years in prison for the Feb. 26, 2006, attack. He will be sentenced Oct. 3.
Alcantar, 31, admitted to using a deadly weapon — a knife — and causing great bodily injury to Nancy Alcantar. The two are getting a divorce, said his lawyer, Moises Vazquez of Santa Barbara.
Witnesses told police that Alcantar was driving on Saviers Road about 11:30 a.m., pulled up next to his wife's car and told her to stop. When she refused, he pulled ahead and their cars collided.
They got out of their cars and argued in the street, and he stabbed her several times, police said.
Also on Tuesday, Alcantar's younger brother, Lionel Alcantar, pleaded guilty to assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the same incident.
Ventura County Superior Court Judge Kevin McGee said Lionel Alcantar, 27, will be sentenced Oct. 2. He is facing up to four years in prison.
Lionel Alcantar's lawyer, Victor Salas, said his client used a knife to keep at bay a man who was with Nancy Alcantar.
Lionel Alcantar then handed his brother the knife, which he used to stab Nancy Alcantar, said Salas.

Wow, saviers road? That's a pretty busy street, no one could stop to try to help? I know it'd be scary, but to just drive on by as a woman is getting stabbed...........

Guess violence runs in the family. Both men are total cowards!!! Let's see how brave they are in the clinker.

Jeez leweeeez, if she doesn't want you, man, let her go. Get over it. Why do (some) people feel they must murder their spouse if they break up? Like that wrestler dude who killed his wife and their kid. What is this world turning to? And how do we turn it back? My son is in the Marines, serving his country. Every time I read crap like this my sorrow and anger want to choke me. He's fighting for principles that people just don't seem to give a rat's patoot about. What has happened to honor and commitment? Or are we too focused on athletes who torture dogs for fun and profit? I've gotta stop reading the paper, it just brings me down. We need more stories about heroes, not about villains. Poor cops. They're just garbage collectors. My heart goes out to them, too.

Metalhaid, I am grateful that your son is fighting for my freedom. Thank you for raising your son to be an honorable man. I don't want you or your son to feel that his sacrifice was for nothing. Thank him for me and my family. Peace.

Wow that is some crazy ass shid. The brother was wrong by giving him the knife while he is angry he might wanted to heed off the guy that was with her but in an angry rage your emotions take over and it seems he went berserk.

why do people result to violence when their partner does not want them anymore. Get over it and get on with your life. What is all of this stabbing and shooting about?

11:30 a.m.?! Intentionally caused the accident?! This fruit loop could have KILLED many more for his stupidity; and his brother, apparently not a bright dude either... if I ever thought thought the world wasn't coming to an end... i stand corrected... God be with all of those who have suffered from this ordeal as well as others who have suffered from their own heartaches dealt from the hands of maniacs like this one.

p1903gomez ,Are you a relative? I see the same thought process here.
Have you heard of people being seperated and dating others? SO WHAT if she was messing around? Doe's that give him the right to kill her ? He is sick and so is his brother....
I suppose she was vulnerable due to the abuse of her husband......I would have cheated on him too !

I have one for you? DO YOU justify stabbing a woman? Cause it sure seems that you do !

I have a question- Who said she was cheating? Just because there was another male in the car does not mean she was cheating. I have had males who were in my car but I was in no way cheating with them.
What does religion have to do with a stabbing?
Weather the woman was sinning or not?
