Ventura man held in Saturday beating case
Ventura police on Sunday arrested a man suspected of beating another man unconscious in downtown Ventura.
Michael Baggs, 40, of Ventura, was arrested around 11:30 a.m. on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
He is suspected of assaulting David Walters, 43. On Saturday afternoon, police found Walters on the 200 block of South Palm Street, unconscious and bleeding from a head wound.
Baggs was booked into Ventura County Jail, with bail set at $20,000.
Walters remained at Ventura County Medical Center on Sunday. No information was available about his condition.
