Bryans may meet Querrey, Kendrick in semifinals

The U.S. Open men's doubles bracket has three local stars on a collision course.

Top-seeded Bob and Mike Bryan of Camarillo beat Jeff Coetzee of South Africa and Rogier Wassen of Netherlands, 6-1, 6-4 in a third-round match on Sunday.

The Bryans could be headed for a matchup with Sam Querrey and his partner.

Querrey, the Thousand Oaks teenager, and fellow American Robert Kendrick beat France's Florent Serra and Gilles Simon 6-3, 6-1 to reach the quarterfinals.

The Bryans play Sweden's Simon Aspelin and Austria's Julian Knowl in the quarterfinals. If they win, they could meet Querrey and Kendrick in the semifinals. Querrey and Kendrick's quarterfinal matchup is against another pair of Frenchmen, Julien Benneteau and Nicolas Mahut.

Mike Bryan and mixed doubles partner, Alicia Molik of Australia, the second seeds, were upset in the second round by Americans Ashley Harkleroad and Justin Gimelstob, 6-3, 6-4.
