Elks Sponsor A Winner

Ventura Elks proudly sponsor Annual Soccer Shoot-Out in conjunction with American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) each year. This year four local Soccer Shooters winners traveled to Santa Maria for the District Contest: Marissa Chavira and Karten Lindahl represented 10 & Under Division with Kade Ditto and Brian Castillo representing the 12 and 14 & Under respectively. Marissa Chavira won first place in her division and traveled to West Covina for the Southern California Regional Contest. Congratulations to Marissa, she won first place and her scores were compared to the Northern California winner, which determined that Marissa won and became the State Champion for the California Hawaii Elks State Association. Now her scores will be compared to national winners to determine the Elks National Soccer Shoot-out Champion for 2007. Ventura Elks is very proud to sponsor this Champion player. John Crisp, Soccer Chairman, works closely with AYSO each year to prepare and notify Soccer players throughout Ventura to participate in this annual Soccer Shoot-out.

Ventura Elks is now planning for the Elks Annual "Free Throw" Hoop Shoot Contest. Hoop Shoot Chairman David Mora will be working with the Ventura Youth Basketball Association (VYBA) to notify local youth basketball players, between the ages of 8 and 13, of the scheduled "Free Throw" Hoop Shoot Contest. For further information, contact Ventura Elks Lodge #1430 at 639-0303.
