EDC-VC prepares for new leadership
The Economic Development Collaborative-Ventura County (EDC-VC) will soon have new leadership. Michele Pettes, EDC-VC's president and CEO for the last 4 years will become the new Ventura County Public Affairs Manager for the Southern California Gas Company. The EDC-VC board of directors is currently finalizing a contract with Bruce Stenslie, deputy director of the California Workforce Association (CWA), to become the new President/CEO of EDC-VC at the end of November, pending contract approval.
"This is a good time for EDC-VC to make a transition like this," said Gary Wartik, chairman of the EDC-VC board of directors. "The organization is solid, thriving and working as a complete collaborative serving the entire county, supporting all of our cities, businesses and entrepreneurs. Michele has assisted the board of directors in bringing the organization to its current level of financial and programmatic stability. We will be looking to Mr. Stenslie to assist the board in taking the organization to the next level during the next few years."
Stenslie has been deputy director at CWA since 2004. Prior to that, he served two years as the executive director for the city of Los Angeles Workforce Investment Board. He has 18 years of experience in workforce and economic development and has previously served as the director of the Ventura County WIB and assistant director of the Ventura County Human Services Agency.
EDC-VC is a private, nonprofit organization that serves as a business-to-government liaison to assist businesses in Ventura County by offering programs that enhance the economic vitality of the region. For more information about the Business Enhancement Program and other services available to small businesses through the EDC-VC, please contact Michele Pettes at 805-384-1800 ext. 21 or michele.pettes@edc-vc.
