Bergeron released from hospital
Patrice Bergeron was released from the hospital Sunday, one day after the Boston Bruins forward sustained a concussion and broke his nose when he was smashed into the boards from behind by Philadelphia's Randy Jones.
Team spokesman Matt Chmura confirmed that Bergeron was discharged Sunday from Massachusetts General Hospital but declined to provide other details. Chmura said that Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli might speak to reporters today to discuss how long Bergeron will be out of action.
Sharks lose Clowe to injury: The San Jose Sharks placed forward Ryane Clowe (knee) and defenseman Rob Davison (finger) on injured reserve.
The Sharks recalled forwards Devin Setoguchi and Lukas Kaspar from their AHL affiliate in Worcester to take their place.
