Hey there - I am a big fan of your columns, and thought you might find it interesting to know that Monday night, October 29, 2007, the gang is going to go at it again! They are going to put on the CONSENT AGENDA (so the Council does not look at it - let alone call any attention in the public to it) the Contract for the new ERP system (at a cost of a mere $2 million plus, plus, plus.
We should all remember the mess they all had with the last computer system they tried to buy - they lost about 2 million of Ventura's ' money then, and here they go again - only this time they aren't going to tell anyone about it until after they have it all wrapped. This is 2 million big ones of the citizens money that it on the line and then all of the expenses that go along with this kind of contract. Don't you think it should be done out in the public? This has all been very hush-hush so that no one looks at what they are doing as usual. They want this to go through before the election so that no one knows how much they are spending again without looking into this clearly. In any case, just thought you should know and maybe you can go up to the Coucnil meeting and ask for more information.So if any of you folks would like to see just how the Gang in the Ivory Tower waste your tax dollars I would suggest you show up at the Oct 29 th Council Meeting at 7:00 pmRellis Smith
