Orthodontist to hold candy buy-back event

More from County NewsDr. Steve Parle, a Simi Valley orthodontist, will hold his second annual Halloween candy buy-back the first two weeks in November.
Parle bought back 75 pounds of candy last year, paying $2 per pound. He hopes to do much better this year in an ongoing quest to save the city from cavities and broken braces.
As for the candy, the charitable organization For the Troops will send the candy and essentials to the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. The troops can then share some of the candy with the children there.
One does not have to be a current patient to participate in the candy buyback.
Parle's office is at 2796 Sycamore Drive, Suite 201. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call 526-3343.
