New Rag in Town....
October 26, 2007The New Kid in Town...On Oct 4 th 2007 Ventura was somewhat surprised to learn it had a new "Local Newspaper" in town. Mr Sheldon Brown and his daughter Staci Brown who arrived in Ventura about 6 or 7 years ago decided that what the city of Ventura really needed was a "Local Rag" dedicated to printing only the news that is fit to print in Ventura.Originally these folks had wanted to talk to me about writing for their paper, however after meeting with them and finding out they only wanted what us "writers" call "poof" writings, we decided that it would be better if they found somebody else. After reading their 1 st publication, which was done very nicely, I had, is my wont to do, only one real problem with the content. "The Breeze supports Prop C7". It is far beyond my realm of thinking as to how anybody with a modicum of intelligence could listen to the less than truthful words that come out of the Ivory Tower, (Ventura City Hall) about the C7 Measure and come away with the idea that it is good for the citizens. It is apparent that the Ventura Breeze has decided to follow in the footsteps of Kevin Clerci of the Ventura County Star and bend over backwards to make good with the Gang in the Ivory Tower. So don't expect to find anything but honey and sweetness concerning the happenings at the Ivory Tower printed in the Breeze.VOTE NO ON C7 ------- VOTE NO ON INCUMBENTSRellis Smith
