Morning Report: Ranch fire 81 percent contained, other local fires under control
Police and Fire: The Ranch Fire is the only one of the local fires that had not been completely contained by this morning.
The fire, which has burned more than 56,000 acres between Castaic and Fillmore, was 81 percent contained as of last night. The part of the fire still burning is located six miles north of Castaic in Los Angeles County.

A Fillmore man was arrested last night after he allegedly beat another man following an argument, authorities said.
Employees at the La Victoria Market at 365 Main Street in Fillmore called police about 9 p.m. after a bloodied man wandered into the store, said Capt. Tim Hagel of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies responding to the scene arrested Juan Cruz, 26, of Fillmore, on suspicion of knocking the man to the ground and beating him following a verbal dispute on the 300 block of Saratoga Street in Fillmore, Hagel said.
Cruz was booked into Ventura County Jail. He could face a felony charge of battery causing bodily injury.
----------
Traffic: At 6:51 a.m., the California Highway Patrol was reporting a traffic collision on Highway 101 northbound at Mussel Shoals north of Ventura.
----------
Weather: Dense fog is expected to reduce visibility to 1/4 mile or less along some portions of the county coast this morning until about 9 a.m., the National Weather Service reported.
Sunny weather with high temperatures in the 70s and 80s is expected after the fog lifts.
