INTERVIEWS:According to RuthAnn Cooper, AAUW member and owner of The Mortgage Source, "I'm a single mother with 2 children attending expensive Ivy League colleges. I attended one of the local seminars on 'paying for college without going broke', and was appalled when it became obvious it was really just a way to sell financial products."Ms. Cooper continued, "So I approached the AAUW to help me give local families access to a college funding expert in a no sales environment. I was referred to Linda P. Taylor who, despite her busy schedule, agreed to speak at 3 workshops! She then put us in touch with the College Dream Foundation of Virginia who are providing attendees with their eBook on using resumes to maximize scholarship money."I am very grateful to the AAUW and RuthAnn for this opportunity" said Ms. Taylor. "I am disgusted by what passes for a college planning workshop. I recently heard a 'going broke" speaker say 97% of FAFSAs are submitted with errors. That hasn't been true for years! Families need real information to solve their college funding crisis - not bad statistics".SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY:Linda P.
