To Bill or not to Bill... No Questions here..

This is a message from Bill Fulton to Frank Pecarich and back!

In a message dated 10/21/2007 1:58:56 P.M. Pacific Standard Time, fulton4ventura@gmail.com writes: Well, Frank, you can believe whatever you want to believe. I know you will laugh at this but I believe this council has accomplished a lot and as I said I am committed to actually doing things and I am proud of what we have done.

Since you seem to have made up your mind about me and seem pretty unwilling to examine my record in more detail or reconsider at a future point, I'll simply accept the fact that you don't like my approach and will continue to serve as a critic. That's your right and that's perfectly OK. I have no problem with that. But I hope you'll understand if I conclude that extended email back-and-forths between us probably don't serve much purpose.

Thanks

BillI think that you have made your point covered in your last sentence one e-mail message ago. Please remember that I was sent the communication and responded as a result of Mike Merriweather's forwarding of the message as I assumed he wanted meto read what had been said and provide my comments.

I have never been under the illusion that you were flexible enough to actually allow other's input to influence your decision. I believe you go "through the motions" of citizen's participation merely to make it appear that you are collaborative. I have "caught" you dissemble so many times that I no longer bother toview proceedings in which you are involved.

I first heard you speak at least ten years ago in a League of Women's forum in Bakersfield. In fact, because of Pam's involvement in the Bakersfield League, I got the short straw and was asked to "entertain" you prior to your speech.

What was really interesting is the disconnect between what you said to the Bakersfield group and your public policy positions here in the Ventura area. All I can say is that you certainly have no problem altering your views based on the perceived politics of the audience. It helps me toremember that you were trained and worked as a journalist -- as was Rick Cole -- andwhen I do remember, your behaviorstarts to make sense.

So I guess I needed to tell you that I have examined "your record" and it comes up wanting. In fact, I have been "examining" your record for a good many years and I'm not impressed with you nearly as much asyour are with yourself. If you were to examine my record in local politics, you would find that I do not gogentle into that good night. If you remain in politics, youwillhear of me for quite a while as both Pam and I take public policy very, very seriously.
