Flor y Canto Celebration of the Arts, Poinsettia Pavilion, Ventura
The Moraga Family Quartet, featuring New West Symphony violist Jorge Moraga, pictured, will perform Saturday at the Flor y Canto Celebration of the Arts fundraiser to benefit El Centrito, a bilingual community center in Oxnard. In addition to Jorge, the musical Moragas include his wife, Cherie, playing English horn and piano; daughter Giovanna, a cellist with the New West Symphony and Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra; and daughter Paola, who plays violin. The event also will feature dinner and a performance by classical guitarist Carlos Gonzalez. Proceeds benefit El Centrito's educational programs. Flor y Canto will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. at Poinsettia Pavilion in Ventura, 3451 Foothill Road. Tickets are $75. For more information, call 483-8685 or visit http://www.elcentrito.org.
