Buenaventura Art Association is sponsoring a competition for artwork for the "Parade of Lights" Poster for the Ventura Harbor Village. Open to all artists. Artworks must depict the Ventura Harbor with fireworks. In addition, think snow, trains, and childhood fantasies of the holiday season.Artworks must be a flat image, size 11 ½ by 12 ½ inches in COLOR in oil, acrylic, watercolor or computer graphics. Two dimensional works only for reproduction purposes. No fee will be charged for entries. Entry materials will not be returned.REQUIREMENTS: A high resolution image of the artwork on a CD or a 5 x 7 or larger Photograph of the Artwork must be received at the Buenaventura Gallery at 700 E Santa Clara St. in Ventura by Nov. 6, 2007.The winning design will receive $200.00 and two tickets for Island Packers board ride for either Friday or Saturday night during the Parade of Lights. Copies of the poster and winning art will be displayed at the Harbor Village Gallery during the Parade of Lights season.An entry form can be found at www.buenaventuragallery.org or visit the Harbor Gallery at 1591 Spinnaker Ste. 117-C, 648-2750, or Buenaventura Art Gallery, 700 E. Santa Clara, 648-1235. Reproduction rights to the winning poster design for advertising and promotional needs will belong to the Ventura Harbor Village for this event only.
