Atherwood Students Shine

The Atherwood PTA heldtheir annual Jog-a-thon on October 11, 2007. The theme this year was "Be The Star That You Are." Chairman of the event, Dina Brewer, was very proud to state "due to the generous donations received, the Atherwood PTA raised $16,000."During the event, Atherwood PTA President, Ginny Hayward, presented Principal Kathleen Roth, with two checks to enhance the educational experience of the 521 Atherwood students. One check is a student allowance ($8/student) that is given to each teacher which can be spent on classroom supplies or equipment during the school year. The second check is for a theatre/cultural experience field trip ($8.50/student). This means that each Atherwood student will see a play, musical or other cultural field trip this school year.Atherwood PTA would like to thank the families and friends that graciously donated to the jog-a-thon with money or their time with assisting at the event. You allowed us to enhance the educational experience for the 521 Atherwood students and will allow the PTA to hold other educational programs throughout the school year.Thank you again for supporting the Atherwood PTA.
