Psychiatrist to Speak to Support Group November 6

DBSA Ventura, the local chapter of the Depression & Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) will welcome psychiatrist, Dr. John Cervantes to their regular, confidential, peer-led support group meeting on November 6, 2007. Dr. Cervantes will answer questions from attendees with depression and bipolar disorder. Questions are expected to cover information on the disorders, medications and psychotherapy.

The evening meeting takes place every Tuesday from 6:30-8:00 pm. Adults suffering from mood disorders can find hope for recovery at Bible Fellowship Church located at 6950 Ralston Street in Room 301 of Building 300. in Ventura. DBSA support groups are open to anyone who is diagnosed with a mood disorder, has a family member or friend who is diagnosed, or who thinks they might have depression or bipolar disorder (also known as manic depression). DBSA support groups are not run by professionals, but instead offer peer-to-peer support which is an important component of recovery from mental illness for many people.
