Miller YMCA Preschool Hosts Open House, Nov. 15

The Miller Family YMCA in the Dos Vientos portion of Newbury Park will show off its new preschool facilities during an open house, Thursday, November 15 at 6:30 p.m. Parents and children are invited. A potluck dinner will be served.

The state licensed preschool, which has been open less than a year, accepts full and part time students. "We have the latest learning materials, equipment and toys," says Stephanie Denholm, the Miller Family YMCA preschool and family programs director. "Our facility includes an outdoor area with a bike track, grass and shade trees. It's a beautiful setting."

Parents and children will get a "hands on" tour of the preschool by YMCA staff at the open house. "We want kids to come and try out some of the activities including our sensory table," says Denholm. "It should be lots of fun."

The preschool open house kicks off Family Week at the Miller Family YMCA that will focus on activities adhering to YMCA's "Connections Count" theme of strengthening the family.

Preschool hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for full timers and 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. for part timers. Kids from age 2 1/2 to 5 can attend and must be potty trained.

The Miller Family YMCA is in the Paraíso shopping center on Via las Brisas in Newbury Park. For more information about the Miller Family YMCA preschool call Stephanie Denholm at 805-480-0309.
