It is a good thing that Moorpark College was closed today. I got there shortly before the closure was made official. It was very difficult to breathe just after being outside for a few minutes.

I am hearing that Simi Valley schools are closed tomorrow. Can anyone confirm? Any chance of getting an update on this page?

I would call the school directly to see if it is going to be closed tomorrow.
Moorpark College will decide after 4pm today if they are going to re-open tomorrow.

Some of the people where I work have tried that...apparently many other people are as well. I note this page was updated at 3:48 but it may already be outdated as I am now hearing Fillmore schools are closed tomorrow.

Moorpark College Update:
The winds have not abated and are not expected to until mid-day tomorrow*. The air quality is predicted to be the same tomorrow as it was today. (http://www.vcapcd.org/Forecast.aspx)
To protect our students and employees, Moorpark College will be closed Tuesday October 23 for day and evening classes as well as for classes held at off-campus locations.
Students and employees are asked not to come to the campus. If we need your assistance, we will contact you individually.
I will send another email at 4 pm Tuesday to advise about the status of the college for Wednesday, October 24. At approximately the same time we will update the main college number (805-378-1400) and the college website at www.moorparkcollege.edu
Wishing you all a safe place to read a good book and rest,
