SANTA MONICA — Just in time for the stretch drive, Moorpark College's passing attack re-emerged Saturday night.

With the defense bunched in the box, and a stiff wind at his back, Raiders quarterback Bryan Randolph seized control of the Western State Conference matchup with Santa Monica in the first quarter.

He completed his first six passes, directed touchdown drives on the first three series and sparked the Raiders to a 48-20 victory in the Pacific Division contest at Santa Monica College.

Randolph finished 8 of 11 for 156 yards and touchdowns tosses of 56 yards to Daniel Wolverton, 25 yards to Conrad Meadows and 20 yards to Tomas Nicacio. He also was confidently looking ahead to the final three weeks of the regular season.

"I am right now," he said with a smile. "It felt good to be able to put that together. Basically, we took what the defense gave us. The line did another great job and gave me all the time we needed."

Moorpark improves to 5-2 (3-1 in the division) and seems on course for a showdown with Citrus in two weeks. Next up is a road contest Saturday at L.A. Pierce.

The Raiders running game, which amassed more than 400 yards in the victory over L.A. Southwest College on Oct. 13, was again resolute against Santa Monica (0-7, 0-4).

As gusting winds chopped down the passing game, Moorpark finished off the victory with its array of running backs.

Kyley McCrae collected 72 yards and touchdowns runs of 13 and 1 yard, all in the second half, and fullback Marcus Hunt finished with 63 yards on six carries.

On an all-around night, Meadows added a 48-yard punt return for the touchdown in the second quarter when he scooped up a short punt and zipped down the sidelines untouched.

The Raiders' run defense was tested, but ultimately yielded just three scores. Cedric Hayes finished with 80 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries, and Nickade Ramsey rushed for 60 yards on 13 carries.

Daron Bartholomew added 47 yards on 11 carries.
