Global Warming Rally At Ventura Harbor

To Demand Political Leadership Mark your calendars! On November 3rd, the National Day of Climate Action, Ventura and Conejo Valley Audubon Societies will be sponsoring a global warming rally as part of the Step It Up 2007 campaign. The rally will be held at the Ventura Harbor from noon to 2:00 p.m. We hope to draw a large crowd and bring attention to the huge problem of global warming and what can be done about it, especially on a political level. Politicians from throughout the area have been invited to attend.

Step It Up 2007, a citizen's movement demanding that the U.S. government address global warming, is organizing in hundreds of communities across the country, to ask our political leaders and candidates to finally do something about bringing us into a clean energy future. This will be one of the first big nationwide rallies against global warming and we encourage everyone to join us. For more information visit the Step It Up campaign website: www.stepitup2007.org. Contact Chrystal Klabunde at 522-8023 or Marianne Slaughter at 484-8415. We'll meet on the beach at Harbor Cove, across from Island Packers and the Channel Islands National Park Headquarters. We'll have maps and a "yardstick", to show our elected officials how predicted sea level rise would affect Ventura County. Please feel free to make your own posters and banners. We'll have green paint for your fingers :-) Invite your friends and colleagues. And above all, be there for the rally!Location:
