Morning Report: Containment of Malibu Fire expected today
Los Angeles County fire officials expect the Malibu fire to be fully contained by tonight. The fire has so far burned some 4,800 acres and destroyed more than 50 homes.
Fire officials said the fire started sometime after 3 a.m. Saturday. They also said it was caused by humans although they would not say that arson was involved.
Some 2,000 firefighters from Ventura and Los Angeles counties battled the blaze. Seven of them received minor injuries.
The fire started some five days after state officials ordered firefighters through California to be on full alert because of the increased risk of fire. This included 800 firefighters who set up camp next to the Camarillo airport. Those firefighters were sent to Malibu to fight the fire on Saturday.
Traffic and Weather:
The California Highway Patrol reported no major traffic incidents in Ventura County this morning.
It will be mostly sunny today with a high near 69. A light wind of 5 to 8 mph is expected out of the west.
It will be partly cloudy tonight with a low around 43.

Fire offical were on the ball, they knew that there was a chance with the change in winds for a problem so they got ready. If no fire that would have been the best but being there I am sure made a big diffeance
God bless the Fire fighters.
