Ventura police search for man who snatched purse

Police were looking for a man Wednesday night who grabbed a purse from a woman in the Target parking lot in Ventura, authorities said.

A young man approached the woman about 5:15 p.m. as she loaded items into her car at 4200 E. Main St., said Ventura Police Lt. Jerry Thurston.

The woman sustained minor injuries during a brief struggle with the man, after he opened her passenger door to grab the purse, police said.

The man then got into a nearby car and drove a short distance before he was stopped by police near Market Street and Callens Road.

He abandoned the car and was last seen running southwest from the rear of Target.

Ventura police were searching the area Wednesday evening.

While back women were making the mistake of leaving thier purse in the cart as they unpacked the groceries into the trunk. Then turned around and thier purse was gone! So always put your purse in the car first. Lock the door if you have to !
Glad they caught the scum!

Is this the same purse snatching that is detailed on the home page? Same location. Totally different details. If it's a different robbery, then that's two in one night. Probably just shoddy reporting by the Star!

how much was in the purse, and how much tax payer money was wasted with the piece of junk V.C.S.O. helicopter flying around target for two hours?
