College football: west roundup

BYU 35, Colorado St. 16: Max Hall passed for 355 yards and three touchdowns and host Brigham Young won its 12th straight Mountain West Conference game.

Fresno St. 38, Utah St. 27: Ryan Mathews ran for two touchdowns and Tom Brandstater threw two touchdown passes as host Fresno State became bowl eligible.

Air Force 30, Army 10: Chad Hall ran for a school-record 275 yards and a touchdown, leading host Air Force. Hall, a senior wide receiver, broke his own record of 256 yards, set against Colorado State on Oct. 13.

Cal Poly SLO 28, S. Utah 21: Jonathan Daly passed for 147 yards, and visiting Cal Poly San Luis Obispo held off a Southern Utah rally late.

San Diego St. 27 Wyoming 24: Kevin O'Connell threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to Vincent Brown with just over a minute left to lift host San Diego State.

San Diego 52, Davidson 49: Josh Johnson threw for 411 yards and five touchdowns — four to John Matthews — as San Diego earned its 24th straight home win.

Weber St. 52, Idaho St. 37: Trevyn Smith scored a career-high five touchdowns for host Weber State.

Louisiana Tech 28, Idaho 16: A 70-yard touchdown pass from Zac Champion to Phillip Livas put Louisiana Tech ahead for good at Idaho.

N. Arizona 29, Montana St. 14: Quarterback Lance Kriesien rushed for three second-half touchdowns as visiting Northern Arizona rallied for the win.

E. Washington 17, N. Colorado 7: A.J. Jimerson rushed for 100 yards and the host Eastern Washington defense forced three key turnovers.

Montana 34, Portland St. 31: Cole Bergquist passed for 305 yards and two touchdowns to Mike Ferriter and host Montana's defense held Portland State's offense scoreless in the second half.

UC Davis 31, Sacramento St. 26: Matt Engle threw for 302 yards and two touchdowns to lead visiting UC Davis.
