Schwarzenegger denies interest in Senate bid

SAN JOSE (AP) — Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger says he has no interest at all in running for the U.S. Senate when he's termed out as governor in 2010.

A Field Poll of California voters this week gives the Republican governor a 1 percentage point edge over Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer.

But Schwarzenegger is laughing off the idea, telling a Silicon Valley Leadership Group luncheon that Boxer is promoting the contest so she can raise more campaign money.

He also says he has no interest in running for mayor of Los Angeles after he leaves office.
