Holiday Shopping Begins at Gingerbread Boutique
The Westlake Junior Women's Club will hold their 26 th Annual Gingerbread Holiday Boutique on Thursday, November 15 th from 9am - 7pm and Friday, November 16 thfrom 8am - 5pm. The boutique will once again be held at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 5801 Kanan Road, Westlake Village. General admission is $5.00 and includes one raffle ticket.Patrons who are interested in getting a jump start on their holiday shopping may attend the "Candy Cane Lane" VIP reception on the first day of the boutique - Thursday, Nov. 15 from 9am-11am. The VIP reception includes a continental breakfast, catered by the famous Westlake Village restaurant Merlin's Kitchen, as well as select beverages. The VIP reception will be $10.00 at the door and will include a special raffle. Children are free.Over 40 local artisans will be featured at this year's boutique which will include items such as unique apparel, jewelry, children's clothing and toys, handmade crafts, bed and bath essentials, handbags, shoes, and holiday decor. Shoppers will also have the opportunity this year to bid on beautiful theme-decorated trees during the event's "Festival of Trees and Lights" silent auction. Following in the tradition, the Westlake Village Junior Women's Club members will have their famous homemade baked goods available for sale, which includes their well-known pumpkin pie bars, chocolate chip cookies, near famous brownies, carrot cake loafs and more. Merlin's Kitchen is also creating a special lunch menu that will be available for purchase during the boutique. All proceeds from the Gingerbread Holiday Boutique benefit local charities. In 2006, the Westlake Village Junior Women's Club donated $50,000 to numerous organizations including Many Mansions; Lighthouse Women and Children's Mission; Senior Concerns/Meals on Wheels; Make A Wish Foundation; and Santa Comes to Agoura, among others.
