Sex offender sentenced to 100 years behind bars
A judge today sentenced an Oxnard man to 100 years in prison for committing lewd acts on a child under 14 and not registering as a sex offender.
Bolden Learoy Johnson, 50, was found guilty in March.
The judge sentenced Johnson to 75 years to life on the lewd acts charge with a child. Johnson got 25 years to life on the second felony count of not registering as a sex offender, according to Prosecutor Maeve Fox. She said the sentences will run consecutively.
The judge was able to take Johnson's two 1982 felony convictions involving the rape of a 15-year-old girl into consideration.
Johnson's lawyer, John McNamara, declined to comment on the sentencing.
Johnson has been in custody since his arrest on Oct. 28, 2005.
The girl, who was 12 when Johnson groped and fondled her while she was in his bed, testified she and her then 9-year-old brother went to stay at his house, which was a residence for recovering drug addicts. She said he showed them a videotape with men and women having sex.
The girl testified that she immediately told her father and her grandma about the molestation, but no one did anything.
During closing arguments, Fox told jurors that the father was afraid of losing custody of the girl because of his previous sexual abuse criminal record.
The girl then told school officials, who reported it to a social worker, who called the Oxnard Police Department. They investigated and arrested Johnson.
Johnson's rape victim gave tearful testimony during the trial. She said her mother didn't believe her either. Johnson held a knife to her head while he raped her, she testified. Johnson had been molesting her since she was 8.

How could her mother not believe her? What is wrong with some parents today? You've got to be on your little-one's side. What else have they got? I say GOOD RIDDENCE to the scum. It's too bad that we have to support this creep for the rest of his life.

I was on a jury last week that was unable to convict a child molester because two jurors did not believe the victims. I applaude this young lady for doing the right thing and continuing to fight for herself. I only hope the victims in last weeks case have the courage to continue to fight for justice. The evidence was overwhelming for a guilty verdict and I know that if Ms. Fox retries the case she will prevail.

I was on this jury. You would have to meet her parents to see why they did nothing when the little girl reported being molested. This was a very sad case and I am glad that Mr. Johnson reeceived a long sentence.

I am so sick and tired of hearing about these Sonz-of-a-female dog. EVERYONE---look out for one another. Education. Alert. Vigilance. I hope and pray that these children may attempt to one day be able to live as healthy children/adults/parents after going through this damn unfortunate crap. Este hijo de su madre no merece vivir... Torture him. Slowly... Very, very slowly... Have no mercy.
