Hueneme Beautiful to meet for luncheon

Hueneme Beautiful will meet for its annual installation luncheon and boutique June 11 at the Whale's Tail Restaurant, 3950 Blue Fin Circle, Oxnard.

Social time and shopping will begin at 11:30 a.m., with luncheon at 12:15 p.m.

There will be a choice of four entrees, and the cost is $25. There will be a 50/50 raffle during the event.

NAWIC to celebrate 40th anniversary

The National Association of Women in Construction, Ventura-Oxnard Chapter No. 139, will meet for a luncheon and fashion show from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 9 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Oxnard.

Former members and affiliates, as well as community members, are invited. Members are asked to dress in 1960s-era clothes.

The Ventura Sunrise Optimist Club will learn about genealogy and genealogical research from researcher Jim McKay on Wednesday.

The Ventura Sunrise Optimist club meets at 7 a.m. every Wednesday at Christy's Deli in Ventura Harbor Village, 1559 Spinnaker Drive, Ventura.

Women voters to hold annual meeting

The Ventura County League of Women Voters will meet June 9 in Nelson Hall at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.

A continental breakfast and lunch will be served. The luncheon speaker will be Rebecca Evans, executive director of the Ventura County Alliance.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 2 p.m.

Jewish singles will meet for a barbecue

J-Singles Ventura County, a club for Jewish singles age 40 to 60, will meet for a summer kickoff barbecue at noon Sunday at Marina Park in Ventura.

Those attending are asked to take food to grill and a side salad to share.
