There's no need to copy another player's swing

Golfers are always searching for the "perfect" swing, but the truth is there isn't one.

Whether it's the best players in the world on the PGA Tour or amateurs just taking up the game, no two players swing the same. Each player has his personal signature moves, but when every great player gets to the "red zone" (from hip to hip), they are all able to square the clubface in time.

The lesson here: Don't try to swing like someone else. Be yourself.

Don't be overly technical beyond the fundamentals of grip stance and alignment. Good grips produce good results. Bad grips require swing compensations that the average golfer has to fight with each time they swing.

Learn a grip that squares the clubface at impact without having to think in the red zone. There is no time to think.

The late Payne Stewart might have said it best: "Each person has to figure out a swing that works for them. Nobody does it the same."
