Ryan Sean Brault, 18, of Camarillo received his Eagle Scout award in a court of honor Feb. 24 at Camarillo United Methodist Church.

The award was presented by Kent Allen, scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 225, sponsored by Camarillo United Methodist Church.

Other participants included Dave Howells and Tony Trembley, assistant scoutmasters; Chris Miessner, Trevor Howells, Byron Milligan, Sean Wilson, Travis Allen, Hayden Patterson, Geoff Stebner, Kevin Griffen, Steven Sherrick, Jacob Eneberg, David Harada, Andy Billings and Scott Seaman. Carolyn Dosick, BSA district executive, gave the Eagle Charge, and Connie Halpern gave the invocation and benediction. Ryan and Derek Etman performed the "Star-Spangled Banner" and "From the Beginning" on guitar, and Brault presented mentor pins to Allen, Howells and his father.

Brault joined Cub Scouts in 1997, advancing to Troop 225 in 1999. He earned 24 merit badges and is a member of the Order of the Arrow. He has been assistant senior patrol leader, quartermaster, patrol leader and librarian. He attended Fiesta Island summer camp and received first aid and CPR training.

For his Eagle project, Brault led 24 volunteers in a landscaping program benefiting Camarillo Heights School. They contributed 180 hours, removing large bushes from a planter in front of the school and added soil and 352 square feet of sod.

The son of Nick and Sheryl Brault is a 2006 graduate of Santa Susana High School in Simi Valley, where he was active in music and video and performed an original song at the Senior-Faculty Showcase. He attends Moorpark College.
