Morning Report: Sexual assault victim found on freeway onramp
Police and Fire: A woman who told California Highway Patrol officers she had been kidnapped and sexually assaulted was found this morning on an onramp to Highway 101 southbound at Seaward Avenue in Ventura, authorities said.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the woman was seen walking on the right side of the roadway at 4:37 a.m.
She told CHP officers that she had been kidnapped from Los Angeles, and the CHP contacted the Los Angeles Police Department, according to the agency's Web site.
The woman was transported to a local hospital, where she being treated this morning, said Det. John Gregozek of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Earlier this morning, Oxnard police arrested a man after a brief chase.
Police arrested Marco Ramirez, 30, of Oxnard, after he allegedly led them on a two mile pursuit through Oxnard's Colonia area, said Sgt. Steve Moore.
The chase began near the intersection of Cooper Road and Juanita Avenue about 12:33 a.m. when officers spotted a stolen Cadillac. It ended after Ramirez allegedly abandoned the car in an alley behind the 400 block of north Bonita Avenue and took off on foot.
Police caught Ramirez and arrested him on suspicion of auto theft, evading police and a parole violation, Moore said.
Traffic: At 8:12 a.m., the CHP was reporting three traffic collisions on Highway 101 between Thousand Oaks and Ventura. Accidents were reported in northbound lanes of the roadway on the Conejo Grade in Thousand Oaks, in southbound lanes at Las Posas in Camarillo and in northbound lanes at Main Street in Ventura.
At 7:32, non-injury traffic collision on Highway 150 at Sisar Road outside Santa Paula.
Weather: This morning's low clouds and fog are expected to give way to sunny conditions with high temperatures in the 60s and 70s today, the National Weather Service reported.

My heart goes out to the sexual assualt victim. Adding to the indignity and pure horror she had already undergone, she was nude when found.
Regarding Ramiriz, what more can be said except to compliment OPD for once again spotting a stolen vehicle and getting the perp off the streets.
In Ventura, as gangs are seeded by family migration patterns into neighborhoods all over the city, so goes crime. The latest to impact our own family (my daughter, in this case, who lives too close to Cabrillo Village for comfort) was mail being stolen when the back of a seemingly secure multi-user mail box was pried off enough to remove mail --- believed to contain a number of checks to one neighbor, a self employed person.
Sad to say, it will continue to get worse in most all of our cities, as city management continues to approve projects that will ultimately end up as ghettos and breeding grounds for gangs.
