Ventura County Sheriff's deputies were searching Saturday night for two men who robbed a fruit stand at gunpoint in Somis.
Capt. Monica McGrath said the two, armed with a handgun, stole about $800 in a cash box from the Peterson Fruit Stand about 2 p.m. Saturday.
The two fled from the stand in a silver Ford Expedition marked only with paper license plates from the Thousand Oaks Auto Mall.
McGrath said a helicopter and patrol units from Camarillo and Moorpark were used in the search but neither the suspects nor the vehicle was found. A tip from a passerby led deputies to the empty cash box discarded in an orchard.

My guess would be that every time they do give a description of the suspects it starts a long series of posts about particular ethnic groups. Obviously the police were given a description of the suspects, and the paper has access to that, they just won't to control the uproar on here. Nice way to slant the news Star.
