NCAA OKs moving 3-point line back a foot
The NCAA on Friday approved moving the men's 3-point line back 1 foot in 2008 from 19 feet, 9 inches to 20 feet, 9 inches.
The decision by the Playing Rules Oversight Panel marks the first major alteration to the 3-point shot since its adoption in 1986-87.

Top-seeded Sharapova loses in semifinals
Top-seeded Maria Sharapova was upset by Aravane Rezai 6-2, 6-4 in the semifinals of the Istanbul (Turkey) Cup.
The 20-year-old Frenchwoman, who is ranked 62nd, will meet Russian Elena Dementieva in today's final of the clay-court tuneup ahead of the French Open. Dementieva beat Alona Bondarenko 7-6 (5), 6-2.
Mauresmo to face Medina Garrigues in Strasbourg final: Amelie Mauresmo will face Anabel Medina Garrigues in the final of the Strasbourg (France) International.
The top-seeded Frenchwoman defeated Marion Bartoli 6-3, 6-7 (1), 6-3 to reach her third final of the season. Medina Garrigues advanced when second-seeded Jelena Jankovic withdrew before their semifinal with a stomach illness.
Monfils, Monaco reach final in Austria: Gael Monfils of France will play Juan Monaco of Argentina in the Hypo Group International final today at Poertschach, Austria.
In the semifinals, Monfils upset fourth-seeded Lleyton Hewitt 6-4, 7-5 and Monaco defeated Luis Horna of Peru 6-4, 6-4.

Galaxy's Albright has surgery on hamstring
Los Angeles Galaxy defender Chris Albright had surgery to repair a torn right hamstring, an injury that will cause him to miss the CONCACAF Gold Cup and the Copa America.
Albright, in his sixth season with the Galaxy and ninth in Major League Soccer, was injured early in the Galaxy's 1-1 tie with Chivas USA last Saturday night. He is expected to be sidelined for at least four months.
The 28-year-old was a member of last year's U.S. World Cup roster.
Galaxy forward Gavin Glinton had surgery in Germany to repair a sports hernia.

Florida A&M coach charged with stalking
Florida A&M basketball coach Mike Gillespie Sr. was arrested on a misdemeanor stalking charge and later released from jail on a $1,000 bond.
Police said they were called by a woman, who said she was stalked at work Thursday evening and Friday morning.
Broncos' Kircus reportedly threatened man after assault: A newly released investigator's report says Broncos receiver David Kircus threatened a man after Kircus allegedly punched him in the face.
Kircus faces a second-degree assault charge after an altercation at a party in suburban Denver early Sunday. Prosecutors added a second count, violent crime, as a sentence enhancer that could lead to a stiffer penalty if he is convicted.
