Top ten priorities for Moorpark

More from Moorpark1. Construct new City Hall, Human Services Center and library.
2. Improve city's water protection and flood control capabilities.
3. Create a comprehensive update of general plan land use and circulation elements.
4. Widen Los Angeles Avenue to six lanes from Tierra Rejada Road to Highway 23 with a raised median, bus turnouts and traffic signal interconnect system. Improve Princeton Avenue from Condor Drive west to 1,500 feet east of Spring Road.
5. Construct a permanent truck scale facility west of the city.
6. Widen the Moorpark Avenue/Walnut Canyon Road corridor from Los Angeles Avenue to north of the city limits. Prepare plans for an alternate route for north/south truck traffic through the city.
7. Facilitate commercial development on High Street.
8. Increase city's general fund revenue through enhancement of existing revenue sources, including business attraction and retention programs and establishment of new revenue sources.
9. Enhance open space and greenbelt areas. Determine feasibility of establishing a trail system along the Arroyo Simi and develop a comprehensive Arroyo Simi management plan that incorporates flood control, preservation and restoration of habitats and recreation components.
10. Develop program to encourage new multi- and single-family housing on under-used sites within the downtown specific plan area. Increase the number of affordable housing units.
