Firefighters rescue pair from vehicle wreck

Ventura County firefighters on Friday freed two people who were trapped in a car after a traffic wreck in Moorpark.

Firefighters were dispatched to the accident near Los Angeles Avenue and Miller Parkway at 6:06 a.m., the Fire Department reported.

Firefighters cut off the doors of a pickup truck to free a man and a woman who were trapped inside, said Deputy Nolan Stoyko of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.

Two people were taken to Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, and one person went to Simi Valley Hospital, Stoyko said.

None of accident victims appeared to have life-threatening injuries, he said.

Eastbound lanes of Los Angeles Avenue near the Moorpark Marketplace shopping center were closed for about an hour and a half after the accident.
