Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association is offering another session of its Accelerated Home Care RN Internship Program. The training program is targeted at registered nurses who have not actively been practicing nursing for a few years and who want to return to the work force.
The accelerated program is the agency's solution to ease the nursing shortage in Ventura County.
The 16-week program meets three days a week and consists of classroom hours, clinical laboratory and supervised clinical experience. Agnes Padernal, Ph.D., RN, and a team with extensive clinical experience and specialty education will instruct the program.
The RN interns are taught in a supportive learning environment. Through Livingston's Preceptor Program, they manage the care of patients in the home under the supervision of RNs experienced in home health and hospice nursing. Key principles taught are critical thinking, teamwork, and the delivery of cost-effective quality patient care.
