WESTLAKE VILLAGE

Art Guild sets show and dinner events

The Westlake Village Art Guild will host a final dinner/demonstration June 5.

Artist Chris Cozen will be giving a review of acrylic paints and their varied application possibilities.

The dinner/demonstration meeting will be at Los Robles Community Banquet Center, 299 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks. Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. Reservations for dinner are $28, and a must by May 31.

No reservations are needed for the 7:30 p.m. demonstration.

NEWBURY PARK

Buckles and Bows slates square dance

The Buckles and Bows Square Dance Club will have a plus-level square dance with A-1 tip from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Borchard Community Center, 190 Reino Road, Newbury Park.

Guest caller will be Rod Shuping. Gus and Lynn DeFore will cue rounds from 7:30 to 8 p.m. and between tips. Donation is $6 per person.

VENTURA

Bird Club speakerto talk about condor

The Ventura County Bird Club will meet at 7 p.m. May 31 at the Ventura Moose Lodge No. 1394, 10267 Telephone Road, Ventura.

Estelle Sandhause, coordinator for the Conservation and Research programs for the Santa Barbara Zoo, is the speaker. Her talk will be "California Condor Conservation and the Santa Barbara Zoo."

Christian Womento hold luncheon

The Oxnard/Port Hueneme Christian Women's Club will hold its monthly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. June 7 at the Wedgewood Banquet Facility, at 5880 Olivas Park Drive, Ventura.

The speaker is Betty Ellis who will share her account of a real Cinderella story. Pam Faulkner will be providing music. Various local, talented business individuals will discuss their specialties.

The luncheon is $15. For reservations by June 4, call 652-0777.

Native Daughters plans fashion show

The Native Daughters will host the annual fashion show and tea from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Buenaventura Mobile Home Estates, 11405 Darling Road, Ventura. Cost is $10 and reservations are required. Call Dolly Attaway, 642-4787.

Members will participate in the Ortega Adobe cleanup from 10 a.m. to noon Monday. Those interested can meet at 215 W. Main St., Ventura. Call Shirley Clark at 984-2126 for details.
