School to stage 'Music Man'

David Freitas plays fast-talking Professor Harold Hill and Noelyn Ortiz portrays librarian Marian Paroo in Hueneme High School's stage production of "The Music Man," Thursday through Saturday at Oxnard High' School's Performing Arts Center.

All shows begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 and will be available at the door.

Hueneme High music instructor Mike Doty is directing Meredith Wilson's Tony Award-winning musical set in fictitious River City, Iowa.

The musical features a long line of catchy tunes, including "Seventy-six Trombones," "Trouble" and "Gary, Indiana."

In addition to Freitas and Ortiz, the Hueneme High cast includes Piry Magaña as Marcellus Washburn, Danny Nguyen as Mayor Shinn, Dominique Franz as Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn, Jannelle Del Carmen as Mrs. Paroo, Carlos Idea as Winthrop Paroo, Isabella Idea as Amaryllis, John-Gabriel Davila as Charlie Cowell, Ahmed Guerrero as Tommy and Bopha Hul as Zaneeta.

The Oxnard High School Performing Arts Center is at 3400 W. Gonzales Road, Oxnard.
