Oxnard house damaged by fire

An Oxnard house under renovation caught fire early this afternoon, suffering some $200,000 in damage, authorities said.

The blaze was reported about 12:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Geranium Place, Oxnard fire officials said.

When firefighters arrived, the found the roof of the house ablaze. They were able to extinguish the blaze within about 10 minutes.

The house was unoccupied at the time and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
