WalkAmerica to raise funds for March of Dimes

A walk to raise money for the March of Dimes will be held Saturday at Rancho Tapo Park in Simi Valley.

WalkAmerica, the nation's longest-established walking event, funds research to find the cause of premature births and how they can be prevented, according to March of Dimes officials.

Registration for the walk is available online at http://www.walkamerica.com or by calling 1-888-4babies. The walk begins at 8 a.m. at the park, 3700 Avenida Simi.

This will be the second year that my family and I will be walking for The March of Dimes.

Our daughter was born 11 wks premature. I solicit donations and walk to honor the men and women who took care of our daughter and will continue to take care of the thousands of babies that will be born prematurely for a vast number of reasons throughout their careers.

We all have our favorite causes but I am inclined to ask one favor of all-----

PLEASE SUPPORT THE BABIES!!!!

There was no explanation for my daughter's premature birth and we are very fortunate that she does not have the many complications that are lifelong issues with preemies.

If nothing else, walk in honor of your healthy children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and godchildren.

Hope to see a great turnout for the babies!!!!!
