Morning Report: Alleged alcohol thieves arrested
Police and Fire: Ventura County Sheriff's officials said two men who allegedly stole an estimated $2,100 worth of liquor from a Thousand Oaks grocery store had a sobering experience Tuesday night: They were arrested.
Sheriff's deputies were notified at 9:08 p.m. of the boozy burglary at the Ralphs at 3963 Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks, said Capt. Derek West.
Three men had forced open the grocery store's door and made off with a shopping cart full of alcohol, West said.
Ventura County deputies notified the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department and the California Highway Patrol of the burglary.
At 9:30 p.m., Los Angeles Sheriff's deputies stopped a car near Hillrise Drive and Buffwood Place in Agoura Hills and arrested two of the suspected thieves.
Noriar Kantzabedian, 21, and Arnold Nazaryan, 22, were arrested on suspicion of burglary.
Ventura Sheriff's officials did not know either man's city of residence this morning.
Traffic: At 6:39 a.m., a piece of plywood was causing a traffic hazard in a lane of Highway 101 southbound just north of La Conchita, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Weather: Sunny conditions with high temperatures around 80 in inland valleys are expected today after morning low clouds and fog, the National Weather Service reported.
