Westlake Village dance school plans to award 10 scholarships

More from Local NewsTo mark its 19th year of serving the community and its recent expansion and addition of company classes and competition teams, Dance Trends School of Dance and Music will grant $26,000 in Dance Company scholarships for the 2007-08 school year.
Scholarship auditions will be May 19 at the dance studio, 1145 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village. Ten scholarships will be awarded to be used toward participation in the school's dance companies.
The scholarships are available only to those who are not presently students at Dance Trends.
Dancers will audition in front of a panel of dance champions and professionals.
After performing their solo routines, finalists will be selected in each of four categories: ballet, tap, jazz and hip-hop. Ten winners will be chosen to receive up to $2,600 worth of scholarship certificates each, to be used for their participation in one of the five dance companies.
Dance Trends is extending an open invitation to all qualifying dancers in the community. All ages and levels are welcome.
