Dumpsters, port-a-potties in P.H. set on fire
Three Dumpsters and two port-a-potties in Port Hueneme were set on fire late Friday and early Saturday at four locations in the city, officials said.
Port Hueneme police dubbed the incidents arsons. Anyone with information is asked to call the department at 986-6621. Callers can remain anonymous.
The four fires occurred between about 10:30 p.m. Friday and about 3:15 a.m. Saturday, police said.
The first Dumpster fire occurred in the parking lot of Beachport Center at Ventura and Port Hueneme roads. The second Dumpster was reported on fire in the rear parking lot of Port City Plaza at Ventura and Pleasant Valley roads. The third was in the rear parking lot at Bard Elementary School, 622 E. Pleasant Valley Road.
In addition, a pair of port-a-potties at Bubbling Springs Park were destroyed in another fire.
All four fires were put out by the Ventura County Fire Department. No other damage was reported.
