The pirates of the Caribbean blow in May 25.

The pirates of Lake Casitas land this weekend.

Johnny Depp, alas, will be part of the first band of rogues only.

You'll have to wait a few more weeks to see Depp starring as Capt. Jack Sparrow in the third installment of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" film series.

But the 17th annual Ojai Renaissance & Pirate Faire at Lake Casitas on Saturday and Sunday isn't lacking in star acting power: Along with blustery guys who swish swords and growl "aarrr" on Pirate's Row, Queen Elizabeth and her court will be there, acting royally well-bred.

To counter all the grunting and grandiosity, Shakespearean actors will perform both days.

The Renaissance & Pirate Faire turns the shores of Lake Casitas into an English country village, dubbed Wixonshire, for two days.

Revelry includes street performers, jugglers, magicians, parades, a children's area, Shakespearean plays, live entertainment on three stages, a tavern and a merchant's village. The Renaissance repast will be hearty, starting with massive turkey legs and sausage.

Period attire is encouraged: bodices and clunky long skirts for the ladies; doublets and breeches for the gentlemen.

Or find an eye patch, slap some gold on your teeth and be a pirate for a day.
