Office Depot signs lease at Island Plaza

The Island Plaza Shopping Center, a 169,000-square-foot retail center at Channel Islands Boulevard and Saviers Road, has signed a long-term lease with Office Depot.

Office Depot will occupy a co-anchor store with about 23,000 square feet at Island Plaza. It will be the Office Depot's second store in Oxnard, with an opening date scheduled for early summer.

Shopping center sells for $3.55 million

Commercial real estate brokerage firm Sperry Van Ness has completed the sale Martinez Shopping Center a 10-building, mixed-use property at 2725 E. Vineyard Ave. in Oxnard to a Calabasas-based private investor for $3.55 million.

Mark Haworth of Sperry Van Ness in Ventura represented the buyer as well as the seller, a private investor group from the San Fernando Valley. The property, formerly a school, eventually will be redeveloped.

Built in 1955, the property sits on 1.58 acres and totals 19,815 square feet. The center includes a gas station, a market, beauty shops, an automotive shop and apartments.

Sperry Van Ness is one of the largest commercial real estate brokerage firms in the United States with more than 800 advisers in 150 cities.

Calabasas

Lee & Associates inks industrial leases

Brokers from Lee & Associates' Calabasas office have negotiated two industrial lease transactions with Sober College Environments LLC and Quake Kare Inc.

Sober College Environments LLC, represented by Jay Rubin of Lee & Associates' Calabasas office, has signed a five-year lease for an 11,664-square-foot industrial building at 6233 Variel Ave. in Woodland Hills. The landlord, a private individual, was represented by Scott Linklater and Robert Shafer of Lee & Associates' Calabasas office.

Quake Kare Inc. has signed a three-year lease for an 11,555-square-foot industrial building at 11969 Challenger Court in Moorpark. Scott Linklater of Lee & Associates' Calabasas office represented the tenant. Brian Lebow of TOLD Partners Inc. represented the landlord, a private individual.

Camarillo

Residential mortgage broker leases space

Equity Commercial Real Estate Services Inc. has announced that residential mortgage broker California Capital Group Inc. has leased 10,000 square feet of office space at the Calle Plano Business Center in Camarillo for its corporate headquarters.

Kent Pierce of Equity Commercial represented both California Capital Group and the property owner in the five-year lease transaction.
