House (Hugh Laurie), left, and Dr. Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) discuss a case on tonight's "House." Fox

"House" at 9 p.m. on Fox: House (Hugh Laurie) must find a way to treat two gravely ill brothers.

"Brando" at 5 p.m. on Turner Classic Movies: This two-part documentary about Marlon Brando combines performances spanning the decades with personal footage and interviews with his Hollywood peers, family members and childhood friends. Accompanying the portrait will be airings of several Brando classics, including "The Men," "A Streetcar Named Desire," "Guys and Dolls," "The Wild One" and "On the Waterfront." Part one repeats at 8 tonight. Part 2 airs at 5 and 8 p.m. Wednesday.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" at 10 p.m. on NBC: Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay), whose birth was the result of a rape, investigates whether her father was actually a rapist. This isn't among the best of the "SVU" stories, but Hargitay, a talented Emmy winner, adds a dimension that goes beyond the script, according to The Star's Dave Mason.

"The Shield" at 10 p.m. on FX: Vic discovers that, in the rush to avenge Lem's murder, he may have killed the wrong man. Oops. Meanwhile, Shane confesses the truth to his wife in an attempt to save his strained marriage.
