Lanes, ramps on Highway 118 will close for work

Beginning Monday, lanes and ramps will be closed for periods of time as crews install conduit for fiber-optic communication cables.
From Monday through Friday, one lane of the highway from the Los Angeles/Ventura County line to Topanga Canyon Boulevard in the San Fernando Valley will be closed from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. and from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. For the same five days, the on- and offramps at Kuehner Drive, Yosemite Street, Stearns Street and Tapo Canyon Road will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
No two consecutive ramps will be closed simultaneously, and detours will be posted.
The $46.5 million project will widen the eastbound 118 from Tapo Street to Kuehner Drive from three to four lanes. The project also includes widening bridges at Kuehner, Stearns, Kadota Street and Tapo and the construction of soundwalls.
