Morning Report: Man stabbed at Newbury Park restaurant

Police and Fire:

A Thousand Oaks man in his 20s was stabbed at a Newbury Park Denny's early this morning, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.

Details were sketchy, but Capt. Ross Bonfiglio said the man was stabbed at 2:40 a.m. after some kind of confrontation. It was unclear whether the stabbing took place inside or outside of the restaurant at 2830 Camino Dos Rios.

Bonfiglio said the man's injuries were not expected to be life threatening.

No arrests had been made by this morning, and Thousand Oaks detectives were continuing to investigate.

Traffic:

California Highway Patrol officers responded to a report of a car in the center divider on the northbound side of Highway 101 near Las Posas Road about 7:30 a.m.

Weather:

The National Weather Service predicted a high near 80 today and mostly sunny skies, after some patchy fog and clouds clear late this morning.

There are too many violent incidents occurring in public venues, such as parks and restaurants. In all cases, innocents are exposed to danger. In some cases, children are present. There is pretty much a common thread in all cases. Gangsters or wanna-be's are somehow involved. Look like a duck, walk like a duck, etc.

Step #1: Put the ACLU out of business.

Step #2: Place into effect and strictly enforce a very stringent county-wide gang injunction.

Dello - I'm with you. I'll be very surprised if alcohol did not play a part in this.

Whosaidwhat: I don't see where anybody alluded to ethnicity regarding the perps. "Pretty much a common thread" is correct. Gangsters are involved in most but not all similar incidents.
