I agree, tagging is a useless moronic activity. They really should do something more productive.

Make them paint things when they get caught. The roads need to be re-striped. They like painting so much, let's have them do something productive with their talents.

Sure usually a K-9 Patrol officer has his dog with him at all times. Why not make him useful ?

I think re-stiping the road should be left to the professionals. But there are alot of homes that are in desperate need of a paint job. What better way to beautify the town !!

And My COndolence to the man who lost his life on South Mountain road.

I agree with Annawheat. The police have the dog with him anyway and it is good training for the dog. They need to keep sharp and what better way than chanse a tagger. Not too much chance of getting shot there.
As to putting them to work, have them paint houses for eldery who live on a low income would be a fitting pushment.

uummmm...did anybody notice that this also includes the death of a unknown person?....that seems more important than the misisule taggers. i pray for their family.

yes we all noticed that. But just like the article about the 11 month old boy who drowned in a bucket, they'll have more information later. I don't know why the Star decides to publish articles that lack information. They should hold them for when they have more. A name, causes, etc. We don't want to speculate. I live in SP and I pray it's not someone I know. So I'm just here wondering waiting for the rest of the news.

I agree, Anita. I live in SP too, and my husband drives S. Mtn Rd to get to work in Simi Valley; he's usually on it "just after 6am"... so I had a slight panic attack and just now called him... almost panicked again when he hadn't answered by the 4th ring... but he did answer. whew! unfortunately, someone else will get the word and I'm sorry for them...

Tabitha please re-read my first post Thankyou!!

What.....? These posts don't match the article.

Posted by My2Cents on June 7, 2007 at 10:27 p.m. (Suggest removal)

...ok folks. like rebel123 says, your comments do not match what the articule states. Can someone--please---fill in the blanks? Taggers? Was this person spraying graffiti? Was this person waiting on someone that was painting graffiti? I'm sure we'll eventually get the full story. It would be nice to have the Star do a bit more "quality control" prior to printing their stories... Then again---they rather print-it and then do a retraction. Hey, but as long as they are the 1st one's to print...

I think why you have taggers on this article because it was originally about taggers being caught by Santa Paula PD but somehow that story never got printed (what a shock since they arrested one of the Star's reporters). This story replaced it obviously but the Star "staff" never bothered to remove the comments. So instead one of the family's lasting memory of the deceased is that they get to read about taggers.

NO NO No .....Ok You know in the early morning reports where they put like three articles into one! Well that is what they did. Including the weather. So that is why there are different posts. They then just carried all the posts over onto this page which is unfortunate.
My prayers to this mans family and loved ones ! God be with you!!!!
